Stick drift happens when a controller reports movement even though you are not touching the analog stick. This test displays the live X and Y values your browser receives, then measures how far each stick wanders from its resting center.

For the most useful result, place the controller on a stable surface and leave both sticks untouched during the hands-off sample. You can then move each stick through its full range to compare the resting result with normal input.

The reading reflects the controller data exposed by your operating system and browser. It is a strong troubleshooting signal, but it is not a factory calibration certificate or a measurement of in-game behavior.

Look for repeatable behavior rather than a single momentary value. Stable, symmetric movement and clean press-and-release behavior are generally more useful signs than chasing a perfect zero.

If a result changes substantially between USB and wireless modes, browsers, or computers, the connection, driver, browser, or remapping software may be part of the problem.

What stick drift value is considered bad?

There is no universal cutoff because games apply different deadzones. A steady center offset above a game's deadzone can create unwanted movement. Compare the measured offset with the deadzone options in the game you play.

Why does the value move slightly near zero?

Small fluctuations can come from sensor noise, wear, wireless conditions, or operating-system processing. A tiny, random movement that stays inside the game's deadzone may not be noticeable during play.
