The vibration test checks whether the connected gamepad exposes a browser-accessible haptic actuator, then lets you request a short, user-initiated rumble. Support varies widely by controller, browser, operating system, connection type, and permission state.

Start with a low-intensity, brief pulse while holding the controller securely. If the page reports that haptics are unavailable, the controller may still vibrate normally in supported games because browser access is a separate capability.

A successful pulse confirms only that this browser could send a vibration request during the test. It does not validate every motor, adaptive trigger, speaker, or platform-specific haptic effect.

Look for repeatable behavior rather than a single momentary value. Stable, symmetric movement and clean press-and-release behavior are generally more useful signs than chasing a perfect zero.

If a result changes substantially between USB and wireless modes, browsers, or computers, the connection, driver, browser, or remapping software may be part of the problem.

Why does vibration work in games but not in the browser?

Games can use native controller APIs and vendor features that webpages cannot access. Browser haptic support also differs by platform, browser version, and wired or wireless connection.

Does this test support DualSense advanced haptics?

It does not reproduce PlayStation 5 game effects. At most, a browser may expose a basic vibration actuator; advanced haptics and adaptive triggers normally require platform-specific software.

Is the vibration test safe?
