PS5 DualSense Controller Test

Test a PS5 DualSense controller's sticks, buttons, D-pad, and triggers in a supported browser. Understand browser haptic limits.

Stick drift and deadzone

Set the controller on a steady surface and do not touch either stick during the sample.

Ready for an 8-second sample.
Full movement

Range and circularity

Rotate each stick slowly around the outer edge, then sweep the center in several directions.

Move the sticks to begin range tracking.

Buttons and D-pad

Press and release every available control. Analog buttons show their reported value.

No button activity yet.

Axes and mapping

Use these values to spot unusual layouts. A blank standard mapping does not automatically mean the controller is defective.

Optional capability

Vibration check

Browser haptics are not available for every controller, connection method, operating system, or browser.

Keep your result

Reports are stored in this browser. Sharing is optional and puts only the selected result in the link.

Diagnostic readings describe what this browser receives, not electrical measurements from the controller. Confirm important findings in the game or device where you plan to use the controller.

Controller overview

What this browser check can reveal

Connect a PlayStation 5 DualSense controller by USB or Bluetooth, press a button, and use the live panel to check the inputs your browser recognizes. Test both analog sticks, face and shoulder buttons, D-pad, stick clicks, and trigger travel.

A webpage does not reproduce the complete PS5 feature set. Advanced haptics, adaptive trigger resistance, the microphone, speaker, light bar, motion sensors, and touchpad data may be unavailable or only partially exposed depending on the browser and operating system.

For a useful comparison, save separate reports for wired and Bluetooth connections. A feature that is missing from the browser can still work correctly on a PS5 or in supported PC software.

Connection notes

Start with a known, stable connection.

  • Check Cross, Circle, Square, Triangle, shoulders, and menu controls
  • Measure both sticks for center drift and full directional range
  • Compare L2 and R2 analog travel
  • Feature-detect basic browser vibration without promising PS5 effects
Inspection workflow

A practical controller checklist.

  1. 01

Confirm the controller appears and the reported name or identifier is plausible.

  2. 02

Press and release every button, D-pad direction, stick click, bumper, and trigger.

  3. 03

Run the hands-off drift sample, then sweep both sticks through their full range.

  4. 04

Disconnect and repeat in the connection mode you actually plan to use.

  5. 05

Verify any fault inside a supported game or console before making a purchase or repair decision.

Compatibility is a chain, not a promise

A browser cannot verify every PS5-only feature.

Frequently asked

PS5 DualSense Controller Test questions

Can this test check DualSense adaptive triggers?

It can read ordinary trigger input when the browser exposes it, but it does not recreate game-controlled adaptive resistance or certify the trigger-effect hardware.

Why does the touchpad button work but touch does not?

Browsers commonly expose the touchpad click as a gamepad button while withholding the touch surface coordinates. Available behavior depends on the platform and connection.

Should I use USB or Bluetooth?

Use the connection you normally play with, then test the other mode if a feature is missing. Driver support and exposed features can differ between the two.
